"Eumeralla"

2013, Installation

Australian Seeds, pine cones, branches of eucalyptus, rice paper and handmade paper
200 x 200 x 100 cm.

"Elena Redaelli turns her attention towards new expressive possibilities, rejecting the traditional artistic media to rely on natural and completely degradable materials from Australia, the country where she currently lives. Seeds, pine cones, branches of eucalyptus, rice paper and handmade paper become materials to be moulded and reinvented……..
Conceived as a "fertile ground to cultivate diversity," Eumeralla arises in the context of  "Sunshine" in Sydney, where the artist is working in a paper studio with people of different abilities. Some of them were involved in the realization of some of the paper sculptures that make up the installation.  Elena recreates in the space of the Serrone a portion of the  Australian flora, where vegetation made out of wood and paper inflorescences proliferate".
